The Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) is recognized as a valuable member of the Acute Care team. The LPN practices under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and assists patients, while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Actions are collaboratively coordinated to successfully provide evidence-based patient/family care. Provides nursing practice that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model.

REQUIREMENTS

Clinician must be available to pick up 2-3 shifts consistently every week.

• Successful completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse program from an accredited college. - Required
• Experience or clinical time in Post-Acute Care or an Acute Care environment.- Preferred
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in primary state. Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state. - Required
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. - Required
• Valid Drivers License. Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities. May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle. - Required
